Welcome
The Yankee Expatriate started as a blog meant to record my experiences in South East Arkansas, and evolved into a platform from which to share my love of literature. I have suspended my Blog, and the Personal Poetry portion of this site in favor of a story set at the beginning of King William the Conquerer's reign in England. An additional feature of this site, and one I am more fond of than my own blog and poetry, is the Featured Poet section, where I'm showcasing the work of past poets. I'm grateful for your visit and hope you return often.
What I'm working on now:
In his book on writing, Stephen King suggests that writing is much like archeology, and a writer must begin by uncovering the bones of his story. The Headsman's Tale is evolving, and I'm slowly unearthing The Black Monk, whose motives may be suspect... but I'll let him tell his tale.
What I'm reading:
The Oxford Book of War Poetry - Poems chosen and edited by Jon Stallworthy, Queen Hereafter, A Novel of Margaret of Scotland by Susan Fraser King.
